Celebrate Sweden’s National Day with SWEA and SACC Colorado – Picnic Style!

Join us for a joyful picnic in honor of Sweden’s National Day. While the official date is June 6, we’ve moved the celebration by a day to make it easier for more of you to attend. Bring your own picnic basket, along with a blanket or chairs, and just enjoy the day.

June 6 marks two key moments in Swedish history:
In 1523, Gustav Vasa was elected king, ending the Kalmar Union with Denmark and Norway and restoring Sweden’s independence — a status the country has maintained ever since.
In 1809, Sweden adopted a new constitution that reshaped the balance of power between the monarchy and parliament. This important reform established the principle of separation of powers, laying the foundation for modern Swedish democracy.
