SUMMARY:Celebrate Sweden’s National Day with SWEA and SACC Colorado – Picnic Style!
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a joyful picnic in honor of Sweden’s National Day. While the official date is June 6\, we’ve moved the celebration by a day to make it easier for more of you to attend. Bring your own picnic basket\, along with a blanket or chairs\, and just enjoy the day. \n \nRemember why we celebrate this day? \nJune 6 marks two key moments in Swedish history: \nIn 1523\, Gustav Vasa was elected king\, ending the Kalmar Union with Denmark and Norway and restoring Sweden’s independence — a status the country has maintained ever since. \nIn 1809\, Sweden adopted a new constitution that reshaped the balance of power between the monarchy and parliament. This important reform established the principle of separation of powers\, laying the foundation for modern Swedish democracy. \nVälkommen!\nSACC-CO and SWEA
