As legend has it, Kubb dates all the way back to the Viking Age, when the game was said to have been played using rather unconventional equipment. Luckily, this tournament will be a little more family friendly.
Instead of skulls and femurs, the game will be played with 10 Kubbs, from the Swedish word “vedkubbar” meaning wooden blocks, 6 batons and one King, all made of wood, we promise.
Whether you are a seasoned Kubb player or just curious to try something new, this is a fun chance to spend the day outdoors, enjoy great music and take part in a beloved Scandinavian lawn game.
Each team needs to have 4 players on the field at all times, not less and not more.
Less than 4 players means disqualification.
Each team may have 1 substitute player, but only 4 players can play each game.
A player can only play on 1 team.
Please arrive at Willow Creek Park no later than 10:45 AM on Saturday, August 15 for check in. There will be a DJ playing throughout the day, and Kona Ice will make a guest appearance at 1:00 PM.
Please bring your own food and beverages.
Registration fee is $15 per player.
